Customer Data
So what do we mean by customer data? Think about the forms you get in the post asking for information about yourself, your white goods, maintenance cover you require for them, applications forms for financial services, subscription forms, and so on. Each form has been designed to capture the data which is most relevant to the organisation that needs to use this data, and also designed to be read, in most cases, by some type of scanner and software, with the least human intervention possible.
Using a mixture of technologies, such as OMR for speed and accuracy, barcodes of different sizes for general data gathering and ICR for hand written words in captial letters, an A4 page can hold a massive amount of customer data.
