OMR Exam Processing, Marking and Reporting

MurrayData can provide two different exam processing and marking software products, each of which has its own unique features and benefits. Both of them handle objective testing : or in other words multiple choice question (MCQ) styles, and provide comprehensive reports as standard. The first is MultiQuest, and the second is Scantron's ParSCORE.

multiquest.jpgTaking a look at MultiQuest first, this versatile software is used to evaluate the quality of your assessments as well as the performance of the candidates. It can be used with either OMR or Image based scanners, although for 'high stakes' exams, MurrayData would generally recommend using an OMR scanner for exam marking for accuracy reasons.

MultiQuest is a complete examinations system, integrating data entry, scoring and reporting for many different types of multiple choice assessments. Examination administrators are completely free to define the overall structure of their assessments and are able to set up sub-tests, multiple papers, pass marks, grading schemes and even negative scoring if required.

The detailed reporting facility within the software enables users to produce reports such as : exception, assessment reliability, item performance, student feedback and ranked pass/fail. The software comes wiith export facilities as standard,

parsystem_image1.jpgParSCORE is a comprehensive, easy-to-use test scoring software solution used with an OMR scanner. It features an electronic gradebook, subtesting capability, user-defined mastery reports, and faculty-wide test score management.

Instructors and lecturers can now score up to 26 versions of tests with up to 200 questions each and evaluate up to 26 responses per item. With ParSCORE, teachers can easily create a gradebook and reporting folder that includes attendance tracking for each student. They can even import information in a comma-separated file format from other applications.

ParSCORE gives instructors more time to do what they do best—teach. Plus, they have the added benefit of tools to monitor individual student growth and their understanding of course material. As part of the ParSystem suite, MurrayData would certainly recommend a demonstration of this unique software, and often use this OMR software for bureau projects involving objective exam processing, marking and reporting.

One additional type of objective assessment, commonly used by medical, nursing and pharmacy schools is Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCE). In other sectors, such as policing, this is known as Objective Structured Practical Exams (OSPE). In summary, this is an active demonstration of learning outcomes by assessors or monitors, usually in a circuit of timed stations. MurrayData have access to one of the world's leading authorities on OSCE and software to mark and grade these exams.
