Verification
Manual verification is required during the Data Capture process because a rule has been broken within the process, such as a multi-mark in OMR, or a confidence level hasn’t been achieved by the recognition engine, e.g. the system cannot be sure whether a handwritten number is a 1 or a 7.
Verification is an important part of the whole Data Capture process and should be planned and designed appropriately for the requirements of the project. MurrayData can assist by giving advice and expertise in ensure that your verification process meets the overall objectives and specification of your project.
A general rule of thumb here is that if a form is completely OMR, then only mistakes by the person filling in the form need to be verified. However, with forms capturing ICR, or hand written capital letters and numbers in defined boxes or areas, then verification will almost certainly have to take place.
